About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift, you are home each day Starting Wage: $25.25 - $35.00, depending on experience Farwest Steel's Operations Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as CDL Driver. In this role, you will serve as a front-line representative of Farwest by delivering materials to customers and vendors safely, timely, and professionally. The CDL Driver is responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction, complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and ensuring material integrity during transport.

  • Deliver steel products to customer and vendor sites as scheduled.
  • Operate a semi-truck and trailer in compliance with DOT and Farwest safety standards.
  • Assist with loading/unloading materials, ensuring correct product delivery and handling.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
  • Verify load accuracy and resolve delivery discrepancies in coordination with the shipping team.
  • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and respect
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
  • Help warehouse team with loading/unloading to expedite shipping processes.
  • Collect COD payments when required
  • Communicate special delivery notes, delays, or issues with Sales or Dispatch teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe material handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work in varied weather and delivery conditions.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of Outlook and mobile devices.
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions while on the road.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to represent Farwest professionally
