Role Summary:
The Box Truck Driver I is responsible for delivering windows, doors, lumber, and building materials to customers. This role involves physical labor, including hand loading, manually securing, and unloading construction materials. Drivers ensure deliveries are made safely, accurately, and on time while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with DOT and company standards.
Scope of the Position:
Drivers are based at the Southpoint location and make daily regional deliveries. This role requires navigating diverse weather and jobsite conditions, including single-family, multi-family, and new construction sites.
Responsibilities:
Delivery Operations
  • Safely deliver windows, doors, lumber, and building materials to customer locations.
  • Hand load, manually secure, and unload materials with precision to prevent damage.
  • Read and verify paperwork/orders to ensure accurate deliveries and identify any load errors.
  • Follow company, DOT, and traffic regulations at all times to maintain safety and compliance.

Vehicle Maintenance
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure all required maintenance tasks are reported promptly.
  • Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.

Customer Service
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely, professional, and accurate deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, addressing any issues or concerns related to deliveries.
  • Represent Wilson Lumber Company positively in all interactions.

Safety and Compliance
