Cat's Corner Veterinary Hospital is seeking a reliable, skilled, fun, outgoing and hard-working Veterinary Technician to join our state-of-the-art, feline only veterinary practice located in Oxford, CT. Our state of the art facility is equipped with Idexx in-house lab equipment, dental radiography, therapy laser, tPEMF therapy, digital radiography, surgical suite, and much more. Cat’s Corner is a Fear-Free Certified and AAHA accredited hospital where we encourage continuing education and professional development. Our staff is outgoing, fun, and full of team players. We are continuously growing our practice, and have both Full-time and Part-time technician positions available.

Our ideal candidate for this position will possess veterinary technician skills and knowledge that include(but not limited to):

  • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • General vaccine protocols
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical prep/assisting
  • General veterinary pharmacology
  • General computer skills
  • Radiography
  • Dental Radiography
  • Safe patient restraint and handling(Fear Free training preferred, but not required. We will teach you!)
  • Great communication skills with clients and co-workers
  • Experience with cloud-based practice management software(eVet preferred, but not required)

Our technicians are a vital part of our team that have patient care as the top priority. Technicians at Cat’s Corner Veterinary Hospital are expected to perform the following tasks on a daily basis(but not limited to):

  • Obtaining thorough patient histories, complete electronic medical exam notes
  • Professionally communicate with clients regarding their cat’s health care via email and phone communication
  • Perform basic mathematics to accurately calculate medication dosage and diet recommendations
  • Perform blood draws(via jugular, cephalic and saphenous veins) and cystocentesis
  • Prepare surgical suite and dental table for procedures
  • Schedule appointments and answer telephone calls
  • Cleaning tasks
  • Perform laboratory diagnostics including blood tests, fecal exams, urinalysis, and cytology
  • Sterilization of instruments and equipment
  • Sedate patients, monitor anesthesia, and safely recover patients
