Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title TRIO/Talent Search Program Coordinator Position Number E00280 Department Trio Programs Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary
The TRIO Talent Search Program Coordinator supports the successful planning, implementation, and evaluation of program services. Works closely with program leadership and exercises independent judgment and discretion. The position focuses on the coordination of academic, career, and college readiness services for eligible middle and high school students specifically those who are first-generation and/or from low-income backgrounds. The coordinator works closely with school partners, students, parents, and the TRIO team to provide advising, workshops, field trips, and guidance throughout the college access pipeline. Ensures compliance with federal TRIO regulations and institutional policies. Includes evaluative components and more comprehensive compliance responsibility.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, human services, or related field
  • At least two years of experience in higher education or K-12 education settings
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office

Essential Duties/Responsiblities
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning, implementing, and evaluating program services to ensure compliance with federal TRIO regulations and grant objectives.
  • Provide supervisory and operational oversight for program activities, including the direction of part-time staff, tutors, and student workers and coordination of services across multiple program sites.
  • Assist with the recruitment, eligibility verification, and enrollment of participants according to federal guidelines
  • Coordinate, schedule, and deliver services at target schools, including academic advising, financial aid and FAFSA workshops, college and career readiness activities, and test preparation
  • Provide programmatic oversight of assigned project components, ensuring services meet federal TRIO guidelines and institutional policies.
  • Lead coordination and logistics for major program initiatives, including residential summer programs, extended-day learning opportunities, leadership development activities, and multi-day college tours.
  • Organize and oversee tours, enrichment experiences, and summer bridge programs, adding operational oversight.
  • Supervises part-time staff, student workers, tutors, and/or interns; coordinates staffing schedules; provides operational coverage during staff vacancies.
  • Supports budget planning and tracking
  • Monitor academic progress of participants and provide referrals for tutoring and other support services as needed
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with school counselors, administrators, and community stakeholders
  • Organize and supervise college tours, cultural enrichment activities, and summer bridge programming
  • Maintain accurate records of student contacts, services, and outcomes in compliance with federal documentation requirements and data entry systems (e.g., Blumen)
  • Assist with the preparation of program reports, including the Annual Performance Report (APR)
  • Collaborate with program staff on curriculum development, assessment tools, and service delivery planning
  • Assist with parent engagement activities, including parent meetings and family workshops
  • Support budget tracking for program events, materials, and transportation needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager
