Warehouse Associate/ Non CDL Driver


Reports to:  Facility Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt


SUMMARY

The Warehouse Associate/ Backup Driver will be able to perform assigned operations and tasks safely and efficiently in a production environment. This individual will interact with customers, employees, managers, and regulatory representatives and will able to safely and efficiently complete customer collection routes with varying schedules and deadlines. In every case, the Warehouse Associate must present themselves with the professionalism and discretion appropriate for each interactive situation.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Unload and load vehicles 

•    Unload and load processing equipment

•    Scan waste and weigh accuracy

•    Ensure container type and manifest are 100% accurate

•    Prepare records of receiving and production as needed

•    Safety and compliance with all relevant regulations

•    Report for and successfully complete all training as required 

•    Review and sign manifests and shipping papers

•    Properly load and secure materials for transport

•    Operate tub wash unit ensuring the wash unit is operating properly

•    Remove clean tubs from the wash unit, inspect tubs and stack for loading onto assigned vehicle for re-use

•    Ensure housekeeping issues, e.g., spills cleaned up, the floor is dry, and debris not on the floor, etc., are addressed immediately.

•    Collect containers from health care offices

•    Drive vehicle to customer location along determined route collecting material for delivery to designated location

•    Prepare and report pre & post trip inspections

•    Maintain Driver’s Hours of Service Log as required

•    Review and sign manifests and shipping papers

•    Provide customer training (manifesting, packaging, etc)

•    Properly label, load and secure materials for transport

•    Clean, wash and refuel vehicle as needed

•    Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

•    High school diploma or equivalent

•    Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience preferred

•    Must have a good driving record within 3 years; no accident reported

•    Pleasant demeanor with other employees, customers, vendors and regulators

•    Must understand how to use computer for data entry

•    Must be able to use software app on mobile phone for manifest documentation

•    Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, climbing, pulling and pushing

•    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy carts

•    Knowledge of barcode scanning; inventory management skills

•    Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations

•    Knowledge and ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift

•    Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

•    Quickly adapt to changing business demands

•    Must meet all applicable DOT and licensing requirements

•    Licensed for vehicle to be driven (min. Class C); Class A or Class B license also acceptable

•    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Card (MEC)

•    Quickly grasp and adapt to new tasks and protocols


EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

•    Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule

•    Additional hours as job duties demand

•    Able to speak and communicate proficiently

•    Able to work in hot and cold conditions
