Job description

Forming 1st Shift

Job Summary:

Independently sets up and operates the various Hot and Cold Header machines in use by the Company to perform highly complex operations such as forming, shaping, cutting, etc. Operates other machine tools as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating overhead crane for heavy product changes.
  • Operate hydraulic presses or other machines to perform hot or cold forming.
  • Monitors equipment operation and corrects minor problems.
  • Adjust machine settings and controls; timers, pressure values, temperatures, etc. to regulate the forming process.
  • Use hand/power tools to bend, form, joggle, draw and coin parts and/or tools, as required.
  • Read a tape measure accurately along with any other measuring tools required
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently
  • Assigned work area will be cleaned, and kept neat and orderly during every workday
  • Will recognize and comply with all safety rules
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a production manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong manufacturing, production and operations experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices.
