Job Summary:
The Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutritionand the Digestive Health Institute of Children's Hospital Coloradoare seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise inInflammatory Bowel Disease. This faculty position is located atChildren's Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus in theDenver Metro area. Responsibilities will focus on providingdiagnostic, therapeutic and care management services for patientswith Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The right candidate will bringexperience in patient-oriented studies in the clinicalsetting.
This role will require leadership within the IBD Center andadvancing its strategic initiatives. We are seeking a candidate tocontinue and grow our IBD Program's clinical trials portfolio. Forthose interested, we offer the opportunity to develop ourintestinal ultrasound program, as well as enhance our specializedcare for Very Early Onset IBD. This position requires collaborationwith multidisciplinary teams including pediatric surgery,immunology, Psychology, Dieticians, Social Work and critical care,and may involve consultation services to other pediatric facilitieswithin the CHCO System of Care. All of our faculty members bring astrong clinical focus, while many pursue research opportunities inclinical medicine and in education. Our faculty also serve inadministrative capacities for the University, Children's Hospital,and our partner hospitals .
Key Responsibilities:
· Interfacing with pharmaceutical, industry sponsors,international/national consortiums to continue strengthening ournational and international reputation.
· Continuing participation with national and internationalconsortiums
· Patient care in Pediatric Gastrointestinal Diseases at Children'sHospital Colorado (CHCO) and its network of care locations andoutreach clinics, including inpatient attending and outpatientclinics, as well as performing the full range of gastrointestinalprocedures
· Provide consultative and call support services for CHCO andaffiliated healthcare partners.
· Education and teaching of pediatric residents, pediatricgastroenterology fellows, students, and others

The IBD team is an all-encompassing team that coversbasic science, translational and clinical researchers as well asdedicated clinicians performing outcomes research.
The IBD Center is housed within the Section of Gastroenterology,Hepatology and Nutrition is a national leader in innovativeclinical practice, developing and testing new diagnostics andtreatments, and training the next generation of clinicians andresearchers. The Section is ranked the #7 pediatricgastroenterology program in the nation by U.S. News & WorldReport. Current faculty includes 42 pediatric gastroenterologistsand hepatologists, 13 advanced practice providers (APPs), 5pediatric psychologists specializing in pediatric gastroenterology,and 10 pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology fellows. Thefaculty are supported by registered dieticians, social works, andchild life specialists. Faculty work closely with all pediatricsubspecialties and allied health professionals both inpatientserving our 400+ bed hospital and outpatient serving Colorado andsurrounding states. While our faculty lead many multidisciplinaryprograms including the Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic DiseaseProgram, Intestinal Rehabilitation Program, Neurogastroenterologyand Motility Program, and Polyposis Clinic, the physician takingthis role will join our Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, whichserves as a regional referral center for complex IBD patientsacross the mountain west region and nationally.
The Section includes many of the leading researchers in pediatricgastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in the country. Researchopportunities in advanced endoscopy include clinical outcomesstudies, device development and testing, and procedural innovation.Research in the broader Section bridges across basic sciences,translational medicine, and clinical research related to pediatricgastrointestinal and liver diseases, offering potentialcollaborative opportunities for faculty interested in translationalresearch.

Associate Professor:
● Medical Degree (MD/DO)
● ABP Pediatrics Board Certified
● Completed fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology atRRC-approved fellowship (or equivalent) by the time of hiredate
● Five or more years of clinical experience in PediatricGastroenterology
Condition of Employment:
● Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's HospitalColorado
● Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal backgroundcheck

Preferred Qualifications:
● 6 years of clinical experience in pediatric Inflammatory BowelDisease
