Job description

Trial Library is an AI-native research platform with a mission to improve healthcare outcomes by expanding access to precision medicine.

About Trial Library

Trial Library is an AI-native enrollment and care navigation platform that accelerates access to precision medicine. In collaboration with biopharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, and health systems, Trial Library enables the delivery of clinical trials as a standard care option - improving patient access, advancing oncology outcomes, and reducing the total cost of care. Backed by leading healthcare venture capital firms, Trial Library's platform is currently deployed in 840+ clinics and 3,000+ providers nationwide.

We're seeking a Head of Life Sciences to build and grow Trial Library's life sciences partnership strategy.

This is a highly strategic, individual contributor role focused on creating new commercial opportunities across the life sciences ecosystem. You'll leverage your network, identify new partnership opportunities, and help shape our commercial strategy while working directly with executive leadership.

This is not an account management or customer success role. Your primary responsibility is generating qualified opportunities, building executive relationships, and advancing strategic discussions until they're ready to transition to the appropriate internal team.

Success in this role is measured by the quality of the pipeline you build, the strength of relationships you establish, and the commercial opportunities you create.

Your Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
  • Develop and execute Trial Library's life sciences partnership strategy.

  • Identify, cultivate, and qualify new partnership opportunities across pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, CROs, academic research organizations, and healthcare innovators.

  • Leverage an existing network to create strategic introductions and executive-level conversations.

  • Conduct discovery meetings to assess partnership fit and commercial potential.

  • Advance opportunities through early commercial discussions before transitioning qualified accounts to internal stakeholders.

Commercial Strategy
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on life sciences market dynamics and commercial opportunities.

  • Recommend target segments, partnership models, pricing approaches, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Provide ongoing competitive intelligence and market insights to influence company strategy.

Pipeline Development
  • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of qualified partnership opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including contacts, opportunity stages, meeting notes, pricing discussions, and supporting documentation.

  • Regularly communicate pipeline health, forecasts, risks, and next steps.

  • Recommend improvements to business development processes and commercial operations.

Industry Leadership
  • Represent Trial Library at conferences, industry events, customer meetings, and executive networking opportunities.

  • Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers throughout the life sciences ecosystem.

  • Position Trial Library as a strategic partner within oncology and precision medicine.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, product, marketing, and customer-facing teams to align commercial priorities.

  • Ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities to implementation and customer success teams.

Your Requirements
  • 6-10+ years of business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial leadership experience within life sciences or healthcare.

  • Existing executive relationships across pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, CROs, or clinical research organizations.

  • Demonstrated success creating net-new strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities.

  • Experience leading executive-level commercial conversations from initial introduction through qualification.

  • Strong understanding of the clinical research, oncology, or precision medicine landscape.

  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to operate independently in an early-stage startup environment.

  • Experience building commercial functions at an early-stage startup.

  • Experience working with AI, digital health, clinical trial technology, or healthcare SaaS.

  • Experience selling into pharmaceutical companies or clinical development organizations.

  • Familiarity with oncology clinical trials and patient recruitment.

$170,000 - $220,000 a year

Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, and network depth relevant to the role.
