Job description

As an Arborist Climber, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of tree care operations, including climbing, rigging, and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities
  • Climbing and Rigging: Perform tree climbing and rigging activities to safely remove, prune, or maintain trees. Ensure proper attachment and securing of loads during operations.
  • Equipment Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of climbing and rigging equipment, identifying and reporting any wear, tear, or potential mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, utilizing appropriate safety harnesses, fall arrest systems, and personal protective equipment when working at height.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with team members to ensure safe and effective operations, maintaining clear communication regarding procedures and load specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered, reporting on operational status and actions taken.
  • Training & Development: Participate in regular safety and skill-based training to stay current on best practices and advance certifications.
Qualifications
  • Physical Ability: Ability to work at heights and in challenging outdoor conditions.
  • Climbing Skills: Experience with tree climbing or similar activities, with a strong understanding of safety procedures.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with rigging equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of fall protection systems, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
  • Certifications: Certification for climbing or rigging (such as OSHA, NCCCO, or similar) may be required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a construction, industrial, or tree care environment with heavy machinery is highly desirable.
  • Preferred: Crane operation certification, CDL A license, experience in inspections or rigging operations, First Aid and CPR certification.
