Job description

Overview
Join our team as a Journeyman Tree Trimmer and play a critical role in maintaining safe and reliable electrical utility infrastructure. In this position, you will perform skilled tree trimming and vegetation management operations around energized power lines and utility rights-of-way, using specialized equipment and industry-approved safety practices. Your expertise will help prevent service interruptions, protect public safety, and support the integrity of the electrical distribution system.

Responsibilities

  • Climbs, inspects, and performs trimming and removal of trees and brush
  • Utilizes rigging equipment and truck bucket
  • Performs installation of deenergized underground equipment
  • Trenching and installing cable or conduit from site drawings
  • Updating drawings with as-built information
  • Physically marking the location of the newly-installed material
  • Participates in storm and emergency-related assignments as qualified and directed
  • Operates and maintains tree trimming and underground installation equipment such as hydraulic aerial platform equipment vehicles, chainsaws, hydraulic pruners, backhoe, trenching/boring equipment, and related equipment.

Required Skills & Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a journeyman utility tree trimmer (line clearance) program, or equivalent combination of training and experience (minimum of two (2) years).
  • Possession and retention of a valid automobile driver's license and Commercial Driver’s License with a Group A designation.
