Tree Trust information

What is Tree Trust?

A Tree Trust is typically a nonprofit organization focused on preserving, planting, and maintaining trees in urban and community environments. Their work often involves urban forestry, environmental education, and workforce development programs related to tree care and landscaping. Tree Trusts may collaborate with local governments, schools, and businesses to increase green spaces and promote sustainability. By improving tree coverage, they aim to enhance air quality, reduce urban heat, and provide natural beauty for communities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an urban forester, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Urban Forester, you need a solid background in forestry, arboriculture, or environmental science, typically supported by a relevant degree and field experience. Familiarity with GIS mapping software, tree inventory systems, and certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist are commonly required. Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills help build community relationships and manage urban tree projects effectively. These skills are critical for maintaining healthy urban forests, ensuring public safety, and promoting sustainability in city environments.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals working at Tree Trust and how can they be addressed?

Professionals at Tree Trust often balance fieldwork, community engagement, and administrative responsibilities. A common challenge is coordinating with diverse stakeholders, such as city officials, volunteers, and community members, to ensure successful tree-planting or conservation projects. Weather and environmental factors can also affect project timelines. Addressing these challenges involves strong communication skills, flexibility, and proactive planning. Team members frequently collaborate, sharing insights and resources to problem-solve and adapt to changing conditions.

Job description

Are you a driven, top-tier sales professional who loves being outdoors and building relationships? Do you want to sell high-value, premium services to a clientele that values quality over the lowest price?
Join us at Joshua Tree Experts, The North Dallas' premier outdoor home service company. We are currently accepting applications for an Arborist Account Manager. This pivotal role offers a golden opportunity to take ownership of a territory, apply your consultative sales expertise, and enjoy exceptional, uncapped earning potential.
You do not need to be a tree expert on day one. If you bring the sales drive, the communication skills, and a genuine interest in the outdoors, we will teach you the arboriculture.
The Role:
The Arborist Account Manager position is not just a job; it's a year-round career built on relationship management and territory growth. You will be the face of the "Joshua Tree Experience," meeting with homeowners, evaluating their properties, and selling comprehensive tree, lawn, and plant health care solutions.
As the Arborist Account Manager, your main responsibilities include:
  • Consultative Selling: Using relationship-based sales techniques to prospect, educate clients, and close high-ticket service contracts.
  • Territory Management: Continuously engaging in prospecting, obtaining referrals, networking with peers, and actively seeking new business opportunities in high-end neighborhoods.
  • Estimating & Proposing: Conducting site inspections, proposing job costs, and providing timely, professional estimates to prospects and clients.
  • Client Experience: Following up promptly after job completion to address any concerns, ensure 100% satisfaction, and build long-term retention.
  • Operational Partnership: Collaborating with our office staff to schedule work and communicating the job scope to our expert production crews to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Demonstrating ethical behavior, integrity, and acting as a role model for our core values: Reliable, Team Player, Improve & Adapt, and Find a Way.

Knowledge and Requisite Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven Sales Track Record: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals, build pipelines, and close deals.
  • Consultative Approach: Excellent customer service, telephone etiquette, and face-to-face presentation skills. You must be comfortable speaking with affluent homeowners.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to multitask, prioritize, identify problems, and collaborate on solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Tech-Savvy: Attention to detail and proficiency with basic computer systems (CRM experience is a big plus).
  • Outdoor Interest: A genuine interest in tree care, landscaping, or the green industry, with a willingness to learn tree identification and plant health care (PHC).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of proven success in outside sales, B2C sales, or account management.
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours to meet job demands and client schedules.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma (College degree preferred but not required).

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves, but NOT required):
  • Previous experience selling in the home services, construction, or green industry.
  • Working knowledge of arboriculture, insect, and disease management.
  • ISA Certified Arborist (If you don't have this, we will support your path to getting it!).
