Job Summary
The Machine Operator - Collator/Packer is responsible for operating and maintaining collating equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing packing activities. This role ensures that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Work schedule: Mon-Fri 5:00am-1:30pm
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup
  • Operate collating machines to meet production standards

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity

  • Set up machines, including glue and plastic components

  • Load and operate bulk feeder assemblies

Packing & Material Handling
  • Pack collated nails into boxes (35-95 lbs)

  • Inspect nail strips prior to packing to ensure quality standards

  • Assemble and close cardboard boxes

  • Stack completed boxes onto pallets

  • Apply proper labels to finished product

Equipment & Tools
  • Operate forklift to move completed pallets

  • Operate staple gun and other packaging tools

Quality, Safety & Reporting
  • Inspect product quality and ensure compliance with specifications

  • Accurately record and report production data

  • Follow quality procedures and safety policies, including PPE

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

General Duties
  • Assist other operators as required

  • Be flexible to work various shifts and overtime

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience

  • Ability to use shop floor computer systems

  • Ability to lift 50-65 lbs regularly

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to read and speak English

  • Forklift certification is an asset

Physical Requirements
  • Medium to heavy physical work

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching

  • Continuous use of hands and visual focus

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
