Job description

Tree Trimmer Job Summary

Our company is looking for a Part Time Tree Trimmer to join our team. In this role, you will prune treetops, repair damaged trees by trimming or removal. Properly operate and maintain tools and equipment such as chainsaws, Power pruning, chippers, pole saw, hedge trimmers, bucket truck operator, etc.

Tree Trimmer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plant, transplant, or remove trees
  • Use rigging to climb and trim trees safely
  • Remove broken branches or limbs from roofs or other structures
  • Inspect trees for signs of damaging pests
  • Safely apply fertilizer and other chemicals
  • Remove brush, trimmings, and other debris
  • Ability to perform physical labor such as lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more.

Tree Trimmer Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must have Broward County Tree Trimmer License A or B
  • ISA arborist certification preferred
  • Tree trimming/climbing experience (2-4 years)
  • Familiar with power tools, including aerial lifts, chainsaws, stump grinder and wood chippers
  • Landscaping experience a plus.

General Qualifications

  • Must be have a minimum two-year apprenticeship in one or more of the job sub-categories listed above
  • Can pass drug test
  • Can pass a criminal back ground check before offer letter is given
  • Must be able to work minimum of 3 to 5 days per week, Monday-Friday; and some Saturdays
  • Must be at work on time, daily, as a standard minimum expected practice to retain employment
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Valid driver's license (Class A or B CDL preferred)
  • Physical stamina
