Job description

Tree Specialists is a TCIA-accredited tree care company that has been serving the MetroWest Boston area since 1981. As a leader in professional tree care, the company is committed to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. The Climbing Arborist (Tree Climber) role offers the opportunity to work alongside a team of certified professionals, utilizing advanced climbing and rigging techniques for structural pruning, bracing installations, and tree removals. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about arboriculture who are looking to develop their skills in a supportive, safety-focused environment. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is currently being offered to new team members.

Responsibilities
  • Safely perform climbing and rigging operations using rope systems or aerial lifts for tree pruning, removals, and maintenance.
  • Assess trees and install cable and rod bracing systems to support tree structure and health.
  • Conduct daily inspections of climbing and rigging equipment, reporting any issues to the crew leader or mechanic.
  • Follow all ANSI Z-133 safety protocols and company safety procedures during field operations.
  • Collaborate with crew members to ensure efficient workflow and maintain clear communication with clients and the public as needed.
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 1-2 years of tree climbing experience
  • Ability to perform arboricultural maintenance and removal operations safely, following ANSI Z133 & A300 standards
  • ISA or MCA certification, or willingness to obtain
  • 1b 2a hoisting license, or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months
