Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking an experienced CDL Bucket Truck Operator with a strong background in professional tree trimming and removal. The successful candidate will operate bucket trucks and other CDL-required equipment while performing tree trimming, removals, and right-of-way vegetation maintenance along state highways. Candidates should have hands-on experience with tree work, equipment operation, and working safely around traffic and utilities. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform tree trimming, pruning, and removals along state highways and rights-of-way.
  • Operate bucket trucks to safely access and trim/remove trees and branches.
  • Assist with tree takedowns, including cutting, lowering, and processing limbs and sections of trees.
  • Operate chainsaws and other hand and power tools used in professional tree work.
  • Load, haul, and remove brush, logs, limbs, and other tree debris from work areas.
  • Safely work around traffic, overhead utilities, and other roadside hazards.
  • Perform traffic control measures and establish appropriate work-zone safety areas.
  • Safely operate dump trucks, bucket trucks, and other CDL-required vehicles and equipment within the employee's license classification.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Properly secure tools, equipment, logs, brush, and materials for transportation.
  • Maintain and care for assigned trucks, equipment, and tools.
  • Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and job-site safety requirements.
  • May operate standard-shift/manual transmission vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid CDL appropriate for the equipment being operated.
  • 5 years clean MVR (motor vehicle record) 
  • OSHA 10 and up-to-date medical card required 
  • Previous professional experience operating bucket trucks.
  • Experience performing tree trimming, tree removal, and/or arboricultural work strongly preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate chainsaws and other tree-care equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work safely around traffic, roadside hazards, and overhead utilities.
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a crew.
