What are treating chiropractors?

Treating chiropractors are licensed healthcare professionals who diagnose and treat neuromuscular disorders, primarily through manual adjustment or manipulation of the spine. Their goal is to reduce pain, improve functionality, and educate patients on how to maintain their health through exercise, ergonomics, and other therapies. Chiropractors often work with patients experiencing back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint issues. They use hands-on spinal adjustments and other techniques to help restore proper alignment and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Treating Chiropractor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Treating Chiropractor, you need a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, state licensure, and a solid understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and manual therapy techniques. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging tools, electronic health records (EHR), and chiropractic adjustment instruments is often required. Excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, and a compassionate approach help build patient trust and encourage adherence to treatment plans. These competencies are vital for delivering effective patient-centered care, ensuring safety, and achieving positive health outcomes.

Job description

We are an award winning, family owned chiropractic practice in Newark, Delaware looking for a full time Associate Doctor of Chiropractic. Our office has been in business for nearly 40 years and currently we have 9 employees, full time and part time, ranging in roles from office manager, to billing manager, to chiropractic assistant, to massage therapist. We are looking to bring on a new associate as quickly as possible.

While chiropractic is the main treatment focus of our practice, we also offer our patients in office physical therapy, rehab therapy, and massage therapy. We utilize primarily a Diversified, hands-on adjusting style with instrumentation when necessary. Our adjusting and rehab methods are based on Chiropractic BioPhysics(CBP) research and protocols, and we do perform x-rays on the majority of patients using our in-house digital x-ray.

Our office is busy, averaging 325 patient visits in an office schedule that has 20 hours available for patient time per week. As a result, often the most difficult part of the job of the treating chiropractor is to be able to effectively deliver treatment and guide a patient’s care within time constraints. Our doctors must remain focused during the shift to always be delivering the highest quality care possible. Additionally, these are the qualities that we are looking for in an ideal candidate:

· Licensed, or ability to license, in Delaware with license in good standing.

· Proficiency, or desire to be proficient, in manual, full spine diversified adjusting

· Interest, and/or ideally experience, in CBP technique protocols

· Intelligent, motivated, focused with an ability to multi-task

· Able to effectively interact with a large number of patients per week

· Strong radiology background

This position is open now and we are looking for an immediate hire. We will provide any training necessary for the right candidate, and new graduates are encouraged to apply. The compensation package includes a base salary based upon experience, as well as the potential for monthly bonuses based on collections and practice statistics. We also pay for continuing education as well as malpractice fees. Our new associates will also start with three weeks of vacation for their first year. Relocation assistance is also available.

If interested, please send CV to Dr. Travis McKay and visit our website at www.advancedback.com. Additionally, if there are any questions about the position, the compensation, or the practice, email them to the same address. We look forward to hearing from you!
