Job description

Job Title: Accounting Associate Location: Lynchburg, VA Type: Contract 6 month- with potential for extension Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0

Overview System One is hiring an Accounting Associate for our Accounts Payable team. Must be local to the Lynchburg, VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high-volume variety of complex invoices, ensuring a 3-way match against purchase orders and confirming correct coding.
  • Interface with internal customers and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Generate monthly accruals and support efforts for internal/external audit requirements.
  • Process and audit complex vendor invoices for payment and coordinate vendor and Project Manager inquiries.
  • Support Treasury administration activities, including preparation of manual wires.
  • Maintain records for audit and historical purposes, and identify deviations from financial policies.
  • Perform data entry, intermediate accounting activities, and ensure compliance with safety rules.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and terminology such as accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Good communication skills to comprehend, follow direction, and convey data
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Good problem identification and resolution skills
