Senior AR & Treasury Accounting Manager

SummaryThe Senior Manager, Accounting - AR & Treasury is responsible for leading the accounts receivable function, managing personnel, and driving operational excellence in collections and cash applications. This role ensures compliance, fosters process improvement, and collaborates across departments to optimize AR performance and support organizational goals
Your role on the team:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AR team, including hiring, training, coaching, and succession planning
  • Ensure AR transactions comply with company policies, SOX requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Partner with Treasury, Finance, and Operations to lead the development and execution of cash management strategies, improving cash flow visibility, forecasting accuracy, and overall working capital performance through data-driven insights
  • Analyze and drive improvements in working capital metrics (AR aging, DSO, cash conversion), identifying opportunities to optimize processes, reduce outstanding balances, and enhance end-to-end cash efficiency.
  • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve AR processes, procedures, controls, and work prioritization
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly AR reporting, cash applications, reconciliations, and close activities
  • Resolve escalated customer and internal stakeholder issues related to billing, collections, and payments
  • Leverage data analytics and AR systems to drive insights and improve decision-making
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, IT, Sales, and Operations to resolve issues and optimize AR workflows
  • Manage W9 collection and validation for multiple entities
  • Oversee new customer onboarding and integration processes to Great Plains
  • Monitor and mitigate AR-related risks, including credit exposure, fraud, and data integrity
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and digital payment solutions
  • Approve AR-related check requests (primarily for refunds) and record bankruptcy notifications as received
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Percentage of current accounts receivable
  • Accuracy and timeliness of cash application
  • Timeliness and accuracy of month-end close
  • Process improvement initiatives completed

What you need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; a degree in Finance or a related field may be considered if accompanied by substantial accounting experience
  • MBA/CPA preferred, not required; relevant experience may substitute
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting or accounts receivable experience
  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of ERP and AR systems (Great Plains experience a plus; flexibility with unique/homegrown systems valued)
  • Experience with digital payment solutions, automation tools, or system integrations preferred
  • Experience with collection tools (e.g., Get Paid) is a bonus, but not required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
