Overview
We are seeking a Land Survey Crew Chief to join our team in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for conducting surveys of all types. Work duties are 95% outdoors with exposure to vehicle traffic, sun, varying environmental noise & mechanical equipment. To be considered for this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty meeting external and internal client expectations.
Responsibilities
  • Understanding of the types of surveys and the purpose of each including topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
  • Collect quality survey data.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment.
  • Operate survey instruments including level, robotic total stations with electronic data collectors.
  • Takes accurate and clear notes and note reduction.
  • Reads and understands plans and specifications.
  • Train survey crew members in the use of equipment and proper field techniques.
  • Adherence to company safety policies along with use of supplied personal protective equipment, (PPE)
  • Be a positive representative of the company and its core values.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
