Job Description
Tier 1 IT Service Desk Specialist provides operational and technical support to TRC employees. Primary duties include resolving assigned service requests in a timely and efficient manner, performing change, install, and move requests, Windows server maintenance, installation and repairs, data and systems backup and recovery, and Active Directory user administration.
Successful candidates should demonstrate a proficient level of technical knowledge and analytical skills. Good teamwork, customer service skills, and a positive attitude will be required to successfully support a high volume of users and varied requests in geographically-disperse offices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide direct IT support and customer service to users through assigned service requests and live queue support channels
Manage assigned service, support, install, and change requests
Assist with technical writing and documentation resources for internal Service Desk personnel and end-users
Manage and track support tickets through Service Desk web platform
Install, maintain, and repair various computer equipment, peripherals, and data communications and network systems
Maintain user accounts, mailboxes and enterprise directories
Support and enforce company information technology policies and procedures
Maintain and support network applications and services like DNS, WINS, AD, RDP, network storage & ERP
Support and maintain network file systems including Windows Server, NetApp, and backup software such as BackupExec
Support and troubleshoot in office networking environments including WAN and VPN
Assist in maintaining software inventory and tagged asset management
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of IT experience in an enterprise environment
1 year of experience supporting Windows 7 and Office 2007/2010/2013
Experience with Office 365 or other cloud-based platforms
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
Experience with Xerox and Toshiba printers and copier systems
Strong understanding of PC and server hardware system components
Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS, Android, Blackberry)
Analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Travel may be required up to 25%
Valid driver's license and vehicle preferred
