Traveling Rv information

What is a traveling RV technician?

Traveling RV jobs are positions that allow individuals to work remotely or while on the road, typically living and traveling in a recreational vehicle (RV). These jobs can include remote work in fields like technology, writing, customer service, or seasonal work such as campground hosting, tour guiding, or working at national parks. Many people choose traveling RV jobs for the flexibility and opportunity to explore different places while earning an income. The lifestyle requires adaptability, self-motivation, and access to reliable internet for most remote positions. It is a popular choice among digital nomads, retirees, and those seeking adventure.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a traveling RV technician?

To thrive as a Traveling RV Technician, you need strong mechanical and electrical repair skills, a solid understanding of RV systems, and typically a high school diploma or vocational training. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, RV-specific software, and industry certifications such as the RVDA/RVIA certification are highly valued. Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and time management skills make a technician stand out in this mobile role. These competencies ensure safe, high-quality repairs and customer satisfaction while working independently in diverse environments.

What are common challenges faced by traveling RV technicians?

Traveling RV Technicians often encounter challenges such as adapting to diverse work environments, managing unpredictable schedules, and troubleshooting a wide variety of RV models. Since each assignment may occur at a different site, technicians must be flexible and resourceful, often working independently with limited access to parts or tools. Collaboration with RV owners and coordination with other service professionals are key aspects, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to problem-solve in real time. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to develop expertise across many RV systems and build strong customer relationships.

Job description

Bretz RV & Marine is seeking experienced sales professionals to join our team as Seasonal Show Salespersons. This is a seasonal, W-2, commission-based role focused exclusively on representing Bretz at assigned RV and marine tradeshows.
Seasonal Show Salespersons sell recreational vehicles, boats, and marine products directly to customers at assigned show events. This position works under the direction of the Show Manager and is designed for individuals who are comfortable selling in a high-energy, event-based environment.
This role is specific to assigned tradeshow events and does not include regular dealership floor coverage, dealership-based sales work, or non-show assignments.
Compensation:
This is a commission-based sales role. Seasonal Show Salespersons earn commission based on the sale of recreational vehicles and/or marine products at assigned Bretz RV & Marine tradeshows.

Actual earnings will vary based on individual sales performance, customer traffic, inventory availability, the number of tradeshows worked, and the overall length of the season.
Full compensation details, including commission structure, payment timing, and applicable terms, will be outlined in the Seasonal Show Salesperson Pay Plan Agreement provided at hire.
Show Schedule and Season :
The show season is expected to run approximately January through September, depending on the final event calendar.

Assigned shows, dates, locations, and attendance expectations will be reviewed in advance with the Show Manager. The schedule is subject to change based on event availability, business needs, added shows, canceled shows, or date changes.
This position requires flexibility, as tradeshow schedules may include weekends, multi-day events, travel days, and overnight stays.
Travel and Lodging:
Travel is required for assigned show events.

The goal is for Bretz RV & Marine to coordinate and arrange approved lodging and travel in advance whenever possible. If an employee is required to personally pay for approved show-related travel or lodging due to timing, late assignment, travel disruption, or other business-related circumstances, eligible expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with company guidelines.
The exact travel coordination and reimbursement process will be reviewed internally and communicated during onboarding.
What We Offer
  • Commission-based earning opportunity tied to sales performance.
  • Seasonal tradeshow-focused work with downtime between events.
  • Opportunity to represent a well-established, family-owned RV and marine dealership group.
  • Company-supported travel coordination for assigned show events whenever possible.
  • Bretz-specific training on systems, inventory, expectations, and show processes.
  • A focused role designed for experienced sales professionals who enjoy event-based selling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Attend and actively sell at assigned Bretz RV & Marine tradeshows.
  • Represent the Bretz brand professionally, knowledgeably, and with enthusiasm.
  • Sell recreational vehicles, boats, and marine products directly to customers at show events.
  • Build customer relationships and deliver a positive, consultative sales experience.
  • Meet or exceed sales expectations for assigned shows.
  • Log customer interactions and sales activity in the Bretz CRM system as directed.
  • Coordinate with the Show Manager regarding show logistics, inventory, customer follow-up, and event preparation.
  • Follow Bretz sales processes, documentation requirements, and customer experience standards.
  • Maintain professionalism during all assigned travel, show activities, and customer interactions.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience in RV, marine, outdoor recreation, automotive, powersports, or high-value product sales; or equivalent tradeshow/event sales experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to assigned show locations, including multi-day events and overnight stays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage customers in a fast-paced, high-energy event environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while following company processes.
  • Comfortable working a seasonal schedule that may include weekends, travel days, and variable show assignments.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States as a W-2 employee.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience selling RVs, boats, marine products, or outdoor recreation products.
  • Prior experience working tradeshows, expos, fairs, or other high-volume event sales environments.
  • Familiarity with dealership CRM systems and sales documentation processes.
  • Strong product knowledge or ability to quickly learn RV and marine product features, benefits, and customer buying considerations.
Employment Details
  • Classification: W-2 seasonal employee. This is not a 1099/independent contractor position.
  • Schedule: Part-time, seasonal, and based on assigned show events.
  • Scope of Work: Tradeshow events only. This role does not include regular dealership floor coverage or dealership-based sales work.
  • Season: Approximately January through September, depending on the final show calendar.
  • Rehire Eligibility: Strong performers may be invited to return for future show seasons. Rehire is not guaranteed and is subject to business needs and performance.
  • Benefits: This seasonal, part-time position is not eligible for company-sponsored health, dental, vision, or 401(k) benefits. Employees may be eligible for legally required benefits depending on applicable law and work location.
