Job description

Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Product Portfolio Manager to join our Fireplace Business Unit in Lakeville, MN. We are the nation’s leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. The Fireplaces Business Unit is one of our key business units within Hearth & Home Technologies, featuring leading brands such as Heat & Glo, Majestic, Heatilator, and more. This business unit is dedicated to advancing fireplace technology and design, reflecting our commitment to exceptional quality and comfort. 

Reporting to the Director, Product Portfolio, this role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote products and their features to the target audience for the Fireplace Business Unit. This role involves close collaboration with product development, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches and sustained market performance of our products.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research: Utilize market research to understand consumer and builder needs, identify market trends, and analyze the competitive landscape to inform product development and drive marketing strategies
  • Product Positioning: Develop and refine product positioning and messaging to differentiate from competitors
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Execute Go-to-Market strategies for new product launches and feature updates
  • Sales Enablement: Provide sales teams with the necessary tools, training, and information to effectively sell the product
  • Product Launches: Develops and partners cross-functionally to execute product launch strategy and tactics. Leads the communications kick-off and strategy meetings for product launches by working cross-functionally
  • Campaign Management: Plan and manage marketing campaigns to increase product awareness and adoption
  • Performance Analysis: Evaluate product performance and marketing strategies, adjusting based on data-driven insights
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, sales, marketing, and other teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of product launches and Go-to-Market strategies
  • Product Roadmap: Execute both short-term and long-term product roadmaps while optimizing a multi-branded product portfolio
  • Lifecycle management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of your product category, from ideation to launch to end-of-life
  • Follow up: Keep teams aware of changes to your category of products
  • Interdepartmental activity: Participate in RCIs or other process improvement opportunities, as needed
  • You Talk We Listen (YTWL): Responsible for all cases involving product features, benefits, and product feedback

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Product Management, Business Administration, or Communications field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8 or more years of executing go-to-market strategies and new product commercialization
  • Consumer goods, home, or building products industry experience; Hearth industry experience preferred
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies
  • Travel as needed to customer locations and events (35% or less)

  • Consumer/Builder focused: Deep understanding of consumer and builder needs with the ability to provide clear and effective product solutions for your category
  • Go-to-Market Strategy Execution: Proven experience in planning and executing go-to-market strategies for new product launches
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey product value propositions and messaging including public speaking skills
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze market trends, consumer/builder feedback, and sales data to inform and refine marketing strategies
  • Product and Marketing Expertise: In-depth understanding of product positioning, competitive market positioning and marketing strategies
  • Collaboration: Skilled in engaging with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing and Product Development to ensure successful product launches
  • Strategic: Ability to see the “big picture” and think both long-term and short-term to develop actionable and well-defined strategic marketing plans for your product category
