While both roles involve selling insurance products, a Travel Insurance Broker specializes in advising clients on travel-specific coverage, often working independently or with multiple providers. Selling travel insurance is often a part of their broader service offerings to travelers.

How do I become a travel insurance agent?

To become a travel insurance agent, you typically need to obtain a license by passing a state-specific exam, which often requires completing pre-licensing education. Strong customer service skills and knowledge of insurance policies are important, and some agents work independently while others are employed by insurance companies or brokers.
