Shore Excursion - Certified Tour Guides
We are looking to hire dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our local team of Tour Guides at different locations in the Boston Area. A perfect opportunity for individuals who enjoy interacting with people and sharing their knowledge of the city and keeping them engaged throughout a unique experience.
What you will be doing:
  • Receiving guests as they disembark from their cruise ship
  • Leading a predetermined number of guests on a fixed-route Walking Tour with stops for verbal (non-amplified) talks with guests
  • Attention to safety concerns, traffic, walkways
  • Build your own presentation with cultural and historic information (Training provided)
  • Communicating with Intercruises Pier Staff as necessary
  • Engaged throughout the tours and contributing to a unique experience of Portland, Maine is essential to the job.
Who we are looking for:
  • Previous experience as a tour guide or working with tourists is required
  • Candidate must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends
  • This is an outdoor position
  • All tours require a minimum three-hour commitment per tour
  • Knowledge of the history of the City and surrounding areas
  • Individuals must be able to work independently, be friendly , outgoing and a good communicator
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Take command in stressful and/or awkward situations
  • Be able to multitask, be reliable, punctual and committed
  • Tours require a commitment to a specific number of hours
