About the Role:
A Space For Us Counseling Inc in Gloucester, NJ is growing. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor to join our integrated healing-focused team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding clients through mindful movement and breathwork in a safe, supportive therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate trauma-informed yoga sessions tailored to the needs of clients with diverse trauma histories
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and grounding environment that prioritizes client comfort and autonomy
  • Collaborate with counselors and clinical staff to align yoga programming with therapeutic goals
  • Adapt poses, sequences, and language using trauma-sensitive and somatic-based approaches
  • Develop and maintain session plans, group curricula, and progress documentation
  • Model and reinforce healthy boundaries, consent, and body awareness throughout all sessions
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
Requirements:
  • Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200 or higher) certification required
  • Specialized training in trauma-informed yoga (e.g., Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga - TCTSY) strongly preferred
  • Experience working with trauma survivors, mental health populations, or in a clinical/therapeutic setting
  • Strong understanding of trauma, PTSD, and somatic healing principles
  • Empathetic, patient, and culturally sensitive communication style
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
