What is a trash porter?

Trash porters are workers responsible for collecting, removing, and disposing of waste and recyclables from residential or commercial properties. They often work in apartment complexes, office buildings, or public spaces to ensure that trash is regularly removed and common areas remain clean. Their duties may include transporting garbage to dumpsters or compactors, sorting recyclables, and sometimes cleaning trash rooms or chutes. Trash porters play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in shared environments.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a trash porter?

To thrive as a Trash Porter, you need a basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures, physical fitness, and reliability, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with waste disposal equipment, compactors, and safety protocols is typically required.
