Job description

Perry's Solid Waste Disposal - Oakland, Maryland

Responsibilities

  • Transport trash, refuse, recycled materials, porta-johns, etc to and from predetermined locations.
  • Pre- and post-trip inspections of any vehicle to be operated while on duty. 
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Report defects, accidents or violations to supervision
  • Assist loader as needed for heavy, or bulky, items

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a truck driver
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
  • Valid CDL Drivers license, with current medical card for CDL positions (CDL Positions)
  • Valid Drivers license for Non-CDL drivers
