Working as a Laundry Transportation Manager, you are responsible for ensuring departmental efficiencies in a safe working environment and that orders to the customers are filled and delivered as accurately and efficiently as possible while being aware of the needs and conditions of additional plant departments to assist in planning laundry productivity to provide the highest possible level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for ensuring material movement is timely, cost-effective and in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations. The primary focus of this position is to manage the delivery drivers.
  • Plans, organizes and manages the work/schedules for drivers
  • Manages transportation personnel to ensure achievement of goals including a target of 98%+ on-time delivery
  • Trains drivers and distribution personnel and teach safe driving practices
  • Ensures compliance of DOT regulations
  • Designs, implements and schedules DOT mandated Hazmat training sessions and Safety training sessions
  • Ensures a safe work environment for employees
  • Informs Operations Manager of any problematic situations related to laundry operations
  • Directs and maintains company owned or leased fleet including ongoing maintenance and fleet rotation plan

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with colleagues in playing a role in team building; must possess adequate interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify a problem, propose solutions, and have the ability to execute possible solutions to problem-solve
  • Ability to make decisions regarding production, distribution, and scheduling
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Exhibit initiative, sense of urgency, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred
  • At least 1 to 3 years combined operations/supervisory experience required
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
