POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
 
Specialty Transportation Driver Job Description 

The beginning hourly range of pay for this position is $21.00-$25.00. Community in Motion provides an excellent benefits package. Benefits are based on full time equivalency and will receive Paid Time Off at 15 hours per month, fully paid medical and dental premiums, group life insurance, 401k contributions at 5% annual salary, flexible spending account and remote work arrangements. This position is up to 24 hours per week and has some flexibility mainly Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm closed Holidays. 
 
Community in Motion is a non-profit corporation established in 1957, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Community in Motion’s mission is to connect our neighbors with access to reliable transportation options that support healthy, independent living. 
We are looking for a safe driver to join our passionate team. Candidates should be able to coordinate with staff and clients, assist community members who use the specialty programs, communicate in a professional manner, and be a helpful and positive team member.
To be successful as a Specialty Transportation Driver, the candidate should possess safe driving skills with a clean driving record. Specialty Transportation Drivers should demonstrate passion in this position; respect those we serve, the agency team, and people we partner with; work with integrity; be dependable in all work areas; and show empathy and caring for the community. 
Specialty Transportation Driver Responsibilities
·         Provide transportation services in a manner that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and supports equitable access for passengers with disabilities.
·         Safely operate vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and agency policies.
·         Transport passengers to scheduled destinations in a safe, timely, comfortable, and courteous manner.
·         Provide personalized door-to-door assistance as appropriate while maintaining passenger dignity and independence.
·         Safely operate the wheelchair lift.
 
Specialty Transportation Driver Requirements
·         Must be at least 25 years of age.
·         Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and insurance.
·         Complete and maintain PASS, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
·         Must pass fingerprint level background check.
·         Must pass pre-employment and random drug (including marijuana) and alcohol screening.
·         Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
·         Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam and maintain a DOT certification. 
·         One or more years driving passengers,
·         Some college level course work, or 
·         Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
