Job description

Job Overview

Join AZAD as a System Administrator and work within the Operations Technology, Control Center Communications Operations organization in the Information Services business line. This position is a 2โ€‘year plus consultant role with high probability of longโ€‘term employment. It is a fullโ€‘time, onโ€‘site job in Spokane, WA (5 days per week).

The hourly pay rate range is $45.00 โ€“ $55.00 depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

This role provides engineering expertise for the integration, operation, and maintenance of missionโ€‘critical Control Center Systems, as well as the monitoring and management systems required for ongoing support.

Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a directly related discipline (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience with a relevant degree; 5 years of experience if no degree.
  • Direct experience performing System Administration in IT.
  • Applicable certifications count as 1 year of experience.
  • Core networking knowledge: TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP/SFTP.
  • Layer 2 skills: STP/RSTP, VLANs, QinQ, LAG.
  • Layer 3 skills: MPLS, LDP, RSVP, L2VPN (VPLS & VPWS), L3VPN.
  • Experience evaluating and applying control system technologies.
  • IT administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of bestโ€‘practice testโ€‘plan development for project certification.
  • Valid U.S. driverโ€™s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading project teams in telecommunications transport systems.
  • Developed compliance processes for NERC CIP and FISMA standards.
  • Linux administration experience.
  • Advanced Cisco knowledge (e.g., CCNP security).
  • Routing certifications such as NRS1/NRS2.
  • Carrierโ€‘Ethernet, Packet Transport Systems, and traffic engineering.
  • Network Operations Center (NOC) experience.
  • VPN and router encryption expertise.
  • SolarWinds expertise for managing routers and switches.
  • IP/MPLS transport network experience.
