Job Description

The Transportation Associate provides safe, timely, and courteous transportation for rehabilitation patients, employees, visitors and guests of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This role supports daily operations by ensuring efficient shuttle service across designated campus locations while maintaining a compassionate and patient-centered approach to service delivery.

Experience

  • Two years of shuttle transportation services
  • Two years customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial driver's license (CDL)

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary

  • Valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to drive and operate Children's vehicles
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on hospital operational needs

Job Responsibilities

  • Operates and drives Children's Healthcare of Atlanta vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for operating and driving Children's vehicles throughout the organization's premises as needed and to specified locations.
  • Carries out responsibilities of the position as outlined by the Parking and Transportation Manager.
  • Documents activities for department records.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Assists our rehabilitation patients and equipment (i.e. wheelchairs) with entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
  • Ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of assigned vehicles.
  • Conducts scheduled and routine safety inspections.
  • Provides excellent service routinely in interactions with all customers, including staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Maintains professional appearance as outlined in Children's policies.
  • Communicate effectively with security, dispatch, and clinical staff as needed.
  • Report any unusual events to Security or supervisor immediately.
  • Provides directions and assistance to visitors and families as needed.
