Job description

Central Indiana Transportation is looking for School Bus Drivers to cover AM/PM routes, Substitute Routes, and Field Trips for K-12 Schools in Indianapolis.

Central Indiana Transportation has bus routes running across at Elementary, Middle and High Schools in Marion and Hamilton Counties.

POSITION: Substitute Bus Driver

The Substitute School Bus Driver or "Stand By Driver" will report to work daily at the Transportation Center and "Stand By" for an assignment filling the seats of absent drivers. While there may be days when you are not needed to drive, the "Substitute/Stand By" will still be paid for reporting to work. This is an extremely important role that ensures bus routes are covered when last minute changes occur. Sub/Standby Drivers are also eligible for additional work including, daytime field trips, afterschool trips and midday routes.

Pay: $20-25 per hour.

POSITION: Field Trip Driver

The Field Trip Driver's first duty is to cover field and sports trips, primarily in the afternoon for schools that need to leave as early as 3:00pm for sports trips immediately after school. Drivers will transport school teams to various locations across Central Indiana and beyond. Field Trip Drivers get first pick at afterschool field trips. If there are no field trips available, Field Trip Drivers are eligible to serve as a substitute driver on an AM/PM bus route.

Pay: $25 Per Hour
