Job description

We are looking for a Logistics/Routing Coordinator to support daily transportation planning for a manufacturing operation specializing in vinyl and aluminum fencing and railing products. This contract position with permanent potential is based in Baltimore, Maryland, and is ideal for someone who can balance scheduling accuracy, administrative coordination, and efficient truck routing in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help organize deliveries, improve route efficiency, and keep shipment information current so customers and internal teams stay informed.
Responsibilities:
• Build and adjust daily delivery routes to reduce travel time, fuel usage, and unnecessary mileage while meeting service expectations.
• Plan truck loading order so deliveries can be unloaded efficiently throughout each route.
• Review vehicle capacity and shipment details to make the best use of available fleet space while following weight and safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and internal teams to confirm schedules, delivery changes, and special handling needs.
• Enter and maintain routing, order, and shipment information accurately in company systems and spreadsheets.
• Support order fulfillment activities by tracking inventory-related details, purchase orders, and delivery status updates.
• Respond to inbound calls and administrative inquiries related to deliveries, schedules, and customer requests.
• Monitor daily transportation activity and identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and on-time performance.• At least 1 year of experience in an administrative, logistics, routing, or distribution support role.
• Previous experience coordinating delivery routes for trucks or working in a transportation scheduling environment is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence handling data entry with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and stay organized in a busy office setting.
• Familiarity with order fulfillment, purchase orders, inventory tracking, or related operational processes.
• Experience using CRM or similar business systems to maintain accurate records and update delivery information.
• Background in manufacturing, distribution, or handling manufactured products is preferred.
