Responsibilities
GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking multiple candidates for Junior Cabling Installation Technician roles to support various projects. The Junior Cabling Installation Technician primary responsibilities will be to perform the installation of premise network cabling systems.
  • Install, label and test premise cabling, connections, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray, Protective Distribution System (PDS) conduit, and associated hardware.
  • Updating cable run sheets and other documentation as required.
  • Read and interpret system installation drawings and design packages and apply that knowledge to cabling installations.
  • Install LC, MTRJ, SC and RJ45 connector termination and test fiber-optic and copper cabling systems.
  • Labeling of cables and associated hardware according to standards and cable run sheets.
  • Install various types of cable tray, Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) and EMT conduit up to 4 inches. Able to fusion splice fiber optic cable.

Qualifications
  • Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet project requirements.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in the installation of copper and fiber-optic cable plants is required
  • Must be highly proficient in the installation and test of premise cabling, connections, patch cords, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray, PDS conduit, and associated hardware.
  • Possess a demonstrated ability in reading and interpreting system installation drawings and design packages and applying that knowledge to the cabling installation while promoting a safe work environment and implementing safe work practices.
  • Must be proficient in the proper handling, installation, of LC, MTRJ, SC and RJ45 connector termination and testing of fiber-optic and copper cabling systems.
  • Must be proficient in the installation of various types of cable tray, PDS, and EMT conduit up to 4 inches.
  • Possess experience with access points, repeaters, data center, computer lab, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), direct access storage drive, mainframe, open systems and switches/routers.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License
  • Must have the following required certifications:
    • Must be confined space certified for outside plant installations
    • Permit-Required Confined Spaces Certification
    • Forklift Certification
    • Aerial and Scissor Lifts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Installer 1 (INST1), BICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) and BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) certification are highly desirable.
