Role Purpose Statement
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, engaging with frontline teams, and solving real-time operational challenges.
As a Transportation/Ramp Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all ground-level activities related to aircraft catering and loading operations. This role is responsible for monitoring safety, service, and operational performance while leading by example to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and time-sensitive environment and has at least two years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, warehouse, or ramp operations. Success in this role requires experience leading union and/or hourly workforces, safety focused, strong employee engagement and performance management skills, and proficiency with workforce management, scheduling, and reporting systems.
Schedule Flexibility Required
As a 24/7 operation, supervisors must be flexible and available to work potential shifts, including:
• 3:00 AM - 11:30 AM
• 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM
Main Accountabilities
Supervisor Responsibility
• Oversees daily ramp operations, including loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies.
• Manages ramp personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, and TSA guidelines.
• Conducts regular safety inspections and training sessions.
• Coordinates with flight operations and catering teams to ensure timely and accurate loading of aircraft.
• Monitors and optimizes ramp efficiency, including equipment utilization and workflow.
• Resolves operational issues and problems in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintains accurate records and reports on ramp activities and performance metrics.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction and other duties as deemed necessary
Leadership
  • Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in ramp operations, distribution, logistics or a related field.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills required
• In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground service equipment.
