Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
  • The Freight Payment Collections Processor II is responsible for researching, resolving, and collecting outstanding freight invoices while partnering with carriers, transportation providers, procurement, accounts payable, and program teams to ensure timely payment resolution. This role focuses on reducing invoice aging, resolving billing discrepancies, validating shipping documentation, and improving carrier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
  • Invoice Resolution
    • Review freight aging reports daily.
    • Research unpaid carrier invoices.
    • Resolve billing discrepancies.
    • Validate freight documentation.
    • Coordinate PO, WBS, and GL coding requirements.
    • Work directly with transportation teams regarding shipment documentation.
  • Carrier Relations
    • Communicate with carriers including FedEx, UPS, DHL, XPO, Estes, Old Dominion, and regional providers.
    • Resolve carrier disputes.
    • Request supporting shipment documentation.
    • Negotiate payment timelines.
  • Financial Responsibilities
    • Research unapplied payments.
    • Assist with reconciliation activities.
    • Coordinate invoice approvals.
    • Support month-end close.
    • Monitor aging KPIs.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify recurring invoice issues.
    • Recommend process improvements.
    • Assist in documenting SOPs.
    • Participate in Lean process improvement initiatives.

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of freight payment, transportation finance, collections, or accounts payable experience
    • ERP experience (SAP ECC/S4 preferred)
    • Transportation Management System (TMS) experience
  • Skills:
    • Microsoft Excel proficiency
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent customer service
