Transportation Analyst

Location: Edmonton, AB

About the Role

McKesson Canada is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Transportation Analyst to support the optimization of our national transportation network. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in transportation management, logistics operations, supply chain analytics, freight optimization, carrier performance management, and continuous improvement.

As a key member of the Supply Chain team, you will leverage data and business insights to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, enhance service levels, and support strategic logistics initiatives across Canada's healthcare distribution network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and transportation providers to implement solutions that drive operational excellence and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze transportation, logistics, and freight data to identify trends, risks, service gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop recommendations to improve transportation planning, route optimization, carrier utilization, network efficiency, and supply chain performance.
  • Monitor and report on critical transportation KPIs including on-time delivery, freight spend, carrier scorecards, network performance, and service metrics.
  • Support transportation sourcing, carrier management, contract analysis, and freight cost optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with Distribution Operations, Procurement, Customer Operations, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to resolve transportation challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), reporting tools, and data analytics platforms to generate actionable business insights.
  • Lead or support projects focused on logistics optimization, supply chain transformation, transportation technology, and process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, operational standards, and company policies.
  • Build dashboards, presentations, and executive reporting that support data-driven decision making.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight management, supply chain analytics, distribution operations, or network planning.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience interpreting large data sets and operational metrics.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with reporting, analytics, or business intelligence tools.
  • Experience utilizing Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and transportation reporting solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, SAP, Oracle, JDA, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or similar supply chain technologies.
  • Knowledge of carrier operations, freight procurement, transportation planning, and logistics best practices.
  • Familiarity with Canadian transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization initiatives.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
