Logistics Coordinator

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily logistics activities and ensure work is completed per the set guidelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to understand their requirements, ensure the commitments are fulfilled, and to inform of any deviations from the committed plan.
  • Manage customer accounts and participate in customer meetings.
  • Coordinate domestic and export (within North America) shipments of goods by various modes.
  • Maintain relationships with customers and trucking companies for scheduling deliveries, changes, inquiries, cancellations and additional requested documentation.
  • Oversee finished goods shipping and raw material receiving, documentation, inventory and recordkeeping.
  • Monitor inventory available for shipments from site and help identify / mitigate potential risks after notifying management.
  • Monitor and maintain transload yard and remote inventories to ensure customer shipments or deliveries are not affected. Inform management of any discrepancies or concerns.
  • Interface with carriers, and transload yards on orders, deliveries, and service concerns. Address and escalate deviations.
  • Ensure the order-to-delivery work processed is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain key reports on inventory position, late cancellations, customer demand, expedited and rebillable charges.
  • Perform investigations and root cause analysis when there are complaints or major deviations.
  • Perform and review month end inventory reconciliation of finished goods, raw materials, chemicals and additives, packing consumables etc.
  • Participate and conduct planning meetings, onboarding calls with customers and business partners.
  • Coordinate and review the procure to pay process to address any concerns, delayed payments, or potential service disruptions. Verification and approval of logistics invoices.
  • Coordinate with sales managers regarding concerns in logistics, inventory, and delivery to customers.
  • Provide supervision for subordinates on the shift including continued training, performance reviews and corrective actions. Responsible for work done during shift and the review of records for accuracy.
  • Help coordinate activities in and around the warehouse related to Logistics functions and inventory. (issues, receipts, inventory management).
  • Manage SOPs and work instructions for Logistics activities.
  • Generate and circulate reports in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint to monitor and highlight the performance of the department for key metrics.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement for department's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that the department objectives are set and met.
  • Interface with plant engineers and management on shutdowns and special projects.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures that may be given by management.
  • Desired hands-on working experience with Microsoft and Excel software, have a working knowledge of DOT requirements and be able to manage a staff of up to10 employees.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, rules, and regulations set forth by the company.
  • Must follow Plant and Personal Safety Programs and Safe Work Practices. Individual will not take unnecessary risks to complete job assignments. Ensure safe work and operation of equipment is being performed by subordinates.
  • Follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Quality and Food safety guidelines and LOG/SOPs set forth by the company and verify they are being followed by all subordinates. Ensure quality and food safety standards are being met.
  • Model the example of safety, quality and positive attitude. Conducting self professionally with subordinates, coworkers and management.
  • Other items that may be assigned by management.

Job Qualifications:
• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
• May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday Day Shift (Some weekends required)
