Job description

  • Ensure efficient execution of daily transportation activities
  • Monitor routes, assign loads and routes to drivers, and track delivery performance
  • Manage freight claims and billing processes
  • Conduct truck checkins to verify arrival and departure status
  • Serve as a key point of communication between drivers, customers, and operations teams
  • Supervise, coordinate and oversee day-to-day logistics operations
  • Plan and review logistics processes with the Logistics Manager to meet company standards and customer service specifications
  • Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate worker activities
  • Monitor site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate with customers across all aspects of operations
  • Meet with team members to monitor progress, track performance, coach, counsel, and recognize successes
  • Improve internal processes through Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and cooperation
  • Carry out performance evaluations and recommend performance awards or merit increases
  • Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary processes
  • Understand labor agreements and maintain positive labor relations
  • Implement health, safety, and security initiatives and ensure adherence to company rules and policies
  • Provide employee and Lead Hand orientation, information, technology, and materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MANAGING DOT REGULATED TRANSPORTATION OR ROUTE MANAGEMENT.
  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • One (1) year or more experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
  • 0 to One (1) year direct supervisory/leadership experience required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
