Job description

As part of the Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations team, you will be a vital part of the Zoox Manufacturing organization responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting complex software controlled electro-mechanical sensing elements critical to Zoox's Robo Taxi. Our team has a collaborative resilient culture marked by being curious and by an energetic approach to bring the Robo Taxi to life. You'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to building the future of transportation.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing quality control activities for the camera, LiDAR, sensor pod and primary compute production line, ensuring compliance with standards, internal procedures, and leading a team of technicians. This role involves managing and supervising Quality employees, analyzing KPI data, implementing improvements, and providing technical guidance to the team while maintaining compliance to quality standards.
In this role, you will:
  • Provide effective supervision, mentoring and coaching to assigned employees to achieve the required quality and production goals.
  • Supervise compliance adherence of the movement (physical and virtual) of products through the production area.
  • Perform all personnel-related functions related to quality staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Plan and organize work to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Be the Data Steward for Manufacturing Quality on serialized production
  • Work with the Operations. Logistics, Supplier Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing team to ensure accurate ERP transactions, documentation and proper maintenance of quality records in compliance with internal procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and report Quality KPIs
  • Partner with Manufacturing System Data team in resolving ERP show stoppers and improving processes

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred in STEM.
  • At least 5 years of progressive QA experience in a fully or semi-automated serialized production environment of complex electro-mechanical assemblies (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device, Robotic industry).
  • At least 3 years of managing employees (Full-Time Employees or Contract Workers)
  • "Super user" level and excellent proficiency in using quality control tools, SAP/Oracle ERP software and MS Office/Google Suite.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, team management skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to handle tight deadlines and manage competing demands effectively.

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in Lidar or camera, sensor and computer assembly, testing and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 standards

$52 - $62 an hour
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
