Transportation Terminal Manager

Benore Logistic Systems, Inc. is seeking anTerminal Manager to lead and oversee terminal operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service. In this position, you will manage assets, optimize operational performance, and develop a high-performing team. This role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and strategic planning to drive operational success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, Motivate, and Develop a High-Performing Team – Supervise drivers, logistics specialists, clerical staff, and operations supervisors. Drive teamwork, accountability, and engagement through coaching, performance evaluations, and training programs.
  • Maximize Operational Efficiency – Leverage tractors, trailers, and CDL drivers to optimize routes, manage schedules, and achieve safety, financial, and service goals.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards – Enforce DOT, OSHA, and CTPAT regulations, conduct safety checks, administer HOS rules, and oversee accident investigations in collaboration with the Director of Safety.
  • Strengthen Customer Relationships – Serve as the primary contact for terminal customers, building strong relationships, anticipating needs, and resolving issues to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Monitor and Drive Key Performance Metrics – Track and manage KPIs, analyze data, and implement improvements to enhance productivity, profitability, and service excellence.
  • Conduct Field Checks and Performance Assessments – Perform ride-alongs with drivers to evaluate safety protocols, route performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee Facility and Equipment Maintenance – Ensure terminal equipment and infrastructure are well-maintained by coordinating with maintenance teams and vendors.
  • Administer Payroll and Time Management – Ensure accurate payroll processing, timekeeping, and employee scheduling for seamless operations.
  • Support Hiring and Talent Acquisition – Participate in recruitment, interview candidates, and handle disciplinary actions to build and maintain a strong team.
  • Maintain and Improve Terminal Infrastructure – Oversee terminal facilities, ensuring an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Implement Best Practices for Quality and Compliance – Enforce ISO certification standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 45001) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion Communication and Team Cohesion – Foster transparent communication, lead meetings, provide updates, and encourage feedback to create a collaborative work culture.
Requirements Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred. An Associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience will be considered.
  • Experience: 5+ years in transportation operations, logistics, or terminal management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and transportation management software (TMW, Peoplenet, SpeedGauge, Rand McNally, PCMiler).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of DOT compliance, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and C-TPAT best practices. Experience with OSHA standards and ISO certifications is beneficial.
  • Leadership & People Management: Experience leading teams, resolving conflicts, and fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze KPIs, optimize operations, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Organization & Multitasking: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
