About the Role:
LYONS TRUCK PARTS INC in Kenosha, WI is looking for a skilled Transmission/Differential Rebuilder to join their team. If you have a passion for heavy-duty drivetrain components and take pride in precision rebuilds, this is the opportunity for you. Come put your expertise to work in a hands-on role where quality craftsmanship is valued every day.
Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild manual transmissions for heavy-duty trucks
  • Rebuild and repair differentials, axles, and drivetrain components to OEM specifications
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions
  • Measure and inspect gears, bearings, shafts, and housings using precision tools
  • Reassemble units ensuring proper tolerances, torque specs, and quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the rebuild shop
  • Document rebuild processes and parts used for inventory and quality control purposes
Requirements:
  • Proven hands-on experience rebuilding heavy-duty truck transmissions and/or differentials
  • Strong knowledge of drivetrain systems including Eaton, Meritor, Spicer, and similar brands
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial indicators
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to lift heavy components and work in a physically demanding shop environment
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
