Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to either Essexville, Midland Service Center, Saginaw Service Center, or Bay City Service Center. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
The Principal Electrical Engineer serves as a departmental subject matter expert in electrical engineering. This role is responsible for the engineering and design of large, complex projects that support the sustainable operation of the organization's distribution, generation, and storage systems. The position collaborates with engineers, technicians, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to deliver complex technical projects within their area of expertise. This individual is a specialist in electrical utility systems, including product design, layout, and implementation.
This engineering position is responsible for the operational performance of solar and battery generating plants in the regional headquarter, Essexville Renewable Center. This role will work closely with operations leadership and field technicians to problem solve and implement engineering solutions to meet safety and performance metrics of multiple solar and battery storage plants.
