Job description

Role Summary:

As a QA Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of quality control programs, procedures, and systems. This position involves the translation of customer specifications and industry standards into product / process criteria and creating control plans to achieve those requirements. You'll also coordinate the site activities to sustain a robust Quality Management System that meets both ISO 9001:2015 requirements, applicable product certifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Quality Manager in development, implementation and monitoring of quality systems and procedures.
  • Monitor and perform auditing function to assure compliance to systems and procedures.
  • Create necessary documentation for ISO 9001 Certification and all site specific applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable manufacturing and regulatory standards.
  • Lead advanced quality planning efforts including customer needs analysis, FMEA and development of product & process quality plans.
  • Develop quality inspection plans to ensure customer purchase orders and contract requirements are met. Audit other documents (Bill of Materials, Routers, Work Instructions, etc) to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Provide quality support to functional processes needed from the point of order through delivery, including order entry, design, product development, purchasing, manufacturing, test, and ship.
  • Identify areas for improvement (internal, external, supplier) and develop quality improvement programs utilizing quality tools and statistical techniques.
  • Maintain and analyze data to provide information or identify problems for management and stakeholders on the process and product performance.
  • Communicate quality risks, improvement opportunities, and recommended actions to site leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and requests.
  • Coordinate internal and external corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root-cause analysis, action-plan development, effectiveness verification, and closure.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, training and assistance to operations and engineering personnel on quality issues.
  • Assist in the evaluation of suppliers and implementation and monitoring of the supplier improvement process.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) events
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the functional areas including Commercial Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Production and Field Service to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide input, guidance and coaching to others to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and deliver projects/work on schedule to meet performance objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

  • Lead Auditor in Quality Systems Course or equivalent
  • Quality Management Systems and/or ISO 9000 Training or equivalent
  • Experience with dimensional inspections, Non-destructive Tests, etc.
  • Understand Mechanical Design and Geometric Tolerancing
  • Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt

The pay range for this role is 99,758.46 - 149,759.65 USD Annual.
