Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for translating conversations, meetings, forms, policies etc. from one language to another. Train employees in native language. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulation

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

  • Translate conversations, meetings, forms, policies, procedures, etc. from one language to another to facilitate understanding and improve safety and production
  • Assist HR, QA, production, etc., by training non-English speaking employees on processes, policies, requirements, etc. in their native language; document training as it occurs
  • Assist with interviews, new hire orientation etc. translating questions, answers and presentations as needed
  • Adhere to safe work practices, policies and procedures, maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality; report any condition or practice that may adversely affect food safety, food quality and/or personnel safety
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum one year experience in accurately translating from English to other language and back; multiple languages preferred
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office to manage data and create reports
  • Detail oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization through highly effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate use of hands/fingers to operate computer, keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to walk around facility as needed
  • Exposed to cold temperatures (45F, 4C)
  • Exposed to noise levels of > 85 decibels
  • Work around raw and/or live animal odors
