Job description

This Opportunity

WSP is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Fare Collection Program to lead and support complex fare collection, transit technology, and mobility programs for South Florida transit agency clients.

This position will serve as the primary day-to-day project management lead, coordinating activities among clients, technology vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The Project Manager will provide leadership in project planning, schedule management, stakeholder coordination, risk management, reporting, and transition planning for large-scale fare payment and transit technology initiatives. The role is similar to WSP's support for major transit fare system programs in New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, and Miami.

This position is required to be onsite in Miami, Florida five (5) days per week.

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Miami metropolitan area. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not anticipated for this role.

Your Impact
  • Serve as Project Manager for fare collection and transit technology projects.
  • Act as the primary WSP point of contact with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, action item logs, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Facilitate meetings with agency executives, project teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor project progress and identify risks, issues, and schedule impacts requiring management attention.
  • Coordinate activities among client staff, technology providers, systems integrators, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, briefing materials, and project reports.
  • Support testing, implementation, operational readiness, and transition planning activities.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communication efforts.
  • Support business development and proposal activities for future transit technology opportunities.
Who You Are Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Information Technology, Transportation Planning, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of post education project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years managing transit, transportation technology, fare collection, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), or large technology implementation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple stakeholders on complex programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing executive presentations and project reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with fare payment systems, account-based ticketing, AFC, or open payments programs.
  • Experience working with transit agencies, including large metropolitan transit authorities.
  • Familiarity with PMBOK project management practices.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of transit technology, systems integration, and implementation programs.
