EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Verification of High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Verification of minimum age of 21 required (example: driver's license, birth certificate, etc.)
  • Minimum of 2 years driving experience preferred.

Verification of High School Diploma/GED and/or age should be uploaded or provided to Central Office prior to being placed on the approved list of substitute bus drivers.
Background checks are completed on all approved substitute applicants.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:
Valid commercial drivers license (CDL), Class A or B, with P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements with satisfactory driving record as indicated by a current three year State Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) .
REQUIREMENTS TO REMAIN ON SUBSTITUTE LIST:
Substitutes must work at least three (3) days per semester to remain on the active substitute list. Substitutes have reasonable assurance to return to work and remain on the substitute list after any break (i.e. summer break) as long as the 3 day requirement has been met.
Substitutes must also complete required subsequent criminal records check.
