School Bus Driver

GoldStar Transit offers exciting opportunities for transportation professionals. We strongly believe the cycle of success starts with treating our employees well. We are seeking a SCHOOL BUS DRIVER to join our Bastrop, Texas team. If you are safety conscious, and like children, we'd like to speak to you. Driver candidates will need to have a clean driving record, and be able to pass a physical, pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.

A bus driver is a person who, under the supervision of a manager, supervisor, dispatcher or trainer safely operates a van or bus over designated routes transporting school pupils, or clients to and from school or designated locations. In addition, a bus driver may transport clients on private charter trips. Bus drivers may work with loud, disruptive passengers. Drivers may also work with severely handicapped individuals.

Job Duties:

  • Drive a bus daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loading and unloading students or clients at designated locations and schools.
  • Perform a child check immediately after each run.
  • Transport school pupils and teachers on school activity trips.
  • Perform daily inspections of buses and associated equipment prior to transportation of passengers.
  • Maintain good order and discipline among students or clients.
  • Follow company policies regarding pupil/client management and relations with parents, teachers, school administrators, guardians, medical practitioners, medical facilities, and the public in general.
  • Keep records and submit reports as required.
  • Wash, sweep, clean and refuel buses as required.
  • Report all mechanical deficiencies in writing promptly.
  • Conduct safe riding instruction and perform bus evacuation drills as directed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Be able to pass a physical, pre-employment drug test, and criminal background check
  • 3 years of verifiable safe driving, with a valid personal driver's license
