Snapshot of your day:
Technical Field Advisor, (TFA), is a working field service consultant responsible for maintaining quality standards of Siemens Energy field service work, self-performing warranty repairs, environment, safety, and the overall performance of crew / contractors on field projects. The TFA is the primary on site guide in assembly, service, and transformer repair and other work at an electrical substation or power plant. The advisor is responsible for the successful execution of projects, both technically and administratively. The TFA is encouraged to take action for the well-being of the onsite personnel, environment, project, equipment, customer and/or the organization. This position will be based out of New York OR New Jersey.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Direct Siemens Energy crews, vendors/sub-contractors assigned to projects to perform duties in accordance with local, customer, industry and corporate laws, regulations and/or standards
  • Ensure projects are timely, within budget performance of projects. Responsible for acquiring budget parameters of assigned projects, including scope of work, hours/days budgeted, expenses, and anticipated vendor/subcontractor delivery requirements, coordination of heavy equipment, tankers, test equipment, ensuring vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials are in safe, operating order and performing maintenance service, inventory, and corrective repairs with their crew
  • Maintain effective communication with site contact for coordination and project management, including daily updates, written and/or verbal, with NRM, including project changes, safety reviews, safety incidents, work scope changes, etc.
  • The TFA ensures the reassembly, vacuum, oil fill, & testing is completed per the factory's recommendations and deviations were not taken that could jeopardize the warranty
  • The TFA provides technical support and accurate installation sequence of accessories, communication between the field and factory for progress and issues. On behalf of the factory the TFA retains ownership and responsibility of the equipment until customer has signed the documentation accepting the final product
What You Bring
  • Must possess 8+ years of combined field service technical assembly, maintenance and repair of power and distribution transformers/transformer accessories in the utility/energy electrical industry. Expertise in Distribution, Power, and Transmission electrical substation equipment across Low, Medium, and High Voltage ranges preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, High School diploma, GED or technical vocational or apprenticeship training, combined with prior transformer field service or related experience.
  • High level field supervisory skills to direct crew members and subcontractors as assigned.
  • Perform and direct personnel in operating transformer oil processor safely and accurately.
  • Must have strong commercial and industrial electrical wiring and strong transformer electrical testing and fixing skills.
  • Willing and able to travel domestic and international up to 80%.
