Meet the Team
Responsible for purchasing goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include negotiating purchase agreements for materials, equipment, supplies, and designated services; conducting research to maintain the most effective purchase practices and procedures; and initiating necessary cost- saving programs where feasible. Obtain quotes from vendors, create purchase orders, place orders with supplier, and follow up with suppliers on order status, variances, and quality issues. Reject tickets that do not include necessary information to place purchase orders efficiently, accurately and compliantly. Close all orders timely.
What You'll Do
  • Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, services, and prices
  • Evaluating the most suitable suppliers in terms of price, reliability, quality, availability and cost-efficiency
  • Consistently reject tickets that do not include necessary information to place purchase orders efficiently, accurately, and compliantly or obtain quotes on behalf of requestors.
  • Redirect requestor's vendor selection, when possible, to use vendors that have extended credit, opposed to payment by corporate card or vendor down payments.
  • Preparing and processing purchase orders by verifying specifications and price in accordance to company policies and procedures
  • Manages purchases by forwarding orders to suppliers and monitoring and expediting orders as needed
  • Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and updating expected delivery dates with communication to the requisitioner
  • Works with suppliers to negotiate volume and discounts, and investigates cost saving opportunities
  • Analyze and resolve purchasing issues/discrepancies (price, qty, part, etc.)
  • Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations
  • Compile and maintain various purchasing related reports as needed (ex. Open commitments report, expected delivery dates, etc.)
  • Reconcile credit card purchases, ensure goods receipt completed, and invoice is forward to Finance for processing.
  • Follows standard work processes and the Internal Controls System and assists in testing or self-assessments (as assigned) as part of the internal control process.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills to plan, develop, coordinate resources, prioritize effectively, and maintain competing demands simultaneously with frequent interruptions and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to ethically handle sensitive and confidential information with impartiality and professionalism
